Young Ideas Grant Program was conducted via cooperation with TOG-Community Volunteers Foundation. The project’s aim is to increase youth’s community involvement through supporting them to create and carry out social responsibility and youth projects. All stages of the project activities are designed by the youth themselves.

Pilot implementation of the project was conducted in our 3 dormitories constructed in Şanlıurfa, Malazgirt and Artvin. 6 girls from each dormitory participated in the trainings and conducted the projects in their dormitories. Project cycle management trainings were organized in each dorm for all girls and they submitted their project ideas to the coordination teams and implemented them. 11 youth and social responsibility projects were carried out, 60 girls performed in production process and 350 young people participated in implementations.

Artvin Ayşen Özyeğin Secondary Education Dormitory for Girls

  • Creating a hobby room in the dorm where girls can socialize, watch movies, organize painting, music workshops.

  • Organizing campaigns against environmental pollution
  • Environmental planning and planting the dorm garden

In 2017-2018 academic year, the project was conducted in 5 dormitories constructed in Ağrı, Aksaray, Konya-Akşehir, Ordu and Siirt. Four education projects, 27 social responsibility projects and five youth projects were carried out.

Ağrı Melek Pakize Erden Secondary Education Dormitory for Girls – 478 young people were reached through implementation of 8 projects.  

  • Making 5 animal shelters for cats and dogs
  • Preparing a corner for their cultural activities in the study room of the dormitory
  • Painting the garden of the dormitory
  • Planting the dorm garden
  • Creating a sport area
  • Exhibition in the garden of the dormitory about human rights, animal rights, women’s rights.

Aksaray Ayşen Özyeğin Secondary Education Dormitory for Girls – 464 young people were reached through implementation of 7 projects.  

  • Making shelters for cats
  • Organizing a “sign language” training
  • Preparing gifts for the senior students
  • Planting flowers in the dorm garden
  • Creating a sport area
  • Preparing posters of formulas for each lessons
  • Organizing a training on healthy eating and combating obesity and on how to survive in disaster

Konya-Akşehir Ayşen Özyeğin Secondary Education Dormitory for Girls – 187 young people were reached through implementation of 7 projects.
